THINGS TO SEE AND DO

A vacation at Fontemorsi allows for a number of day trips to some of the most famous art cities as well as the possibility to travel some of the most beautiful roads in Tuscany.

In the immediate vicinity are the hilltop villages of Casale Marittimo, Bolgheri, Castagneto Carducci, Riparbella, Querceto and the splendid city of Volterra and then lay the small towns of San Miniato and San Gimignano. And further on Pisa, Lucca, Massa Marittima and Siena which are, in effect, open air museums. Florence is approximately one-and-a-half hours away.

For nature lovers both the national parks of San Rossore and Uccellina are a short distance away.

For relaxation and wellness there are the thermal baths at Venturina, with its antique hot and cold pools, or the beautiful Saturnia thermal baths. Close by here are beautiful beaches such as the Golfo di Baratti or the WWF oasis of Bibbona. The islands of the Elba, il Giglio, Pianosa, Capraia, Giannutri, Gorgona and Montecristo within easy reach.

For the sporting there is horse riding, treking and bikes that Fontemorsi supplies to take a through the beautiful countryside.

Fontemorsi is located in a part of Tuscany with an ancient tradition in the production of wines. From our 22 hectare-winery we mainly produce Sangiovese following the organic principals certified by ICEA. We produce three red, one white, and one rosé wine. Our organic olive oil is a blend of the Frantoio, Maurino and Leccino olives harvested early and cold pressed. Acidity is always very low and the oil is characterized buy a very fragrant nose and very delicate taste.

In the village of Montescudaio our Fontemorsi shop sells all our wines olive oil.
